As a student at the esteemed University of Connecticut, I was at the precipice of what many would later call a new era. My broadcast journalism professor, quite possibly a visionary in his field, had urged us to take up social space on a fledgling platform called Twitter—foretelling their significant influence on the news landscape.
But could anyone have imagined that 'tweeting' would become a ubiquitous verb, a constant hum of our digital lives?
Since then, the manner in which we communicate has undergone a seismic shift, just as the lines between our public and private selves have blurred, and the constant pursuit of validation has left its mark.
In an age where influence is currency and attention is the prize, I, like many, have found myself ensnared in the quest to matter.
It's a never-ending cycle that can leave one feeling adrift, searching for solid grounding. As such, I was compelled to pause, to take a step back from the ceaseless scrolling.
Why am I here, on this digital stage, and in this world at large? What is the driving force behind my actions and words? Is it the fleeting dopamine rush of approval, or is it something deeper, something more meaningful?
In the midst of this digital cacophony, I realized that I needed a compass, a guiding principle, to navigate the treacherous waters of online existence. I sought answers to the profound questions that have haunted humanity for centuries. What is the good life? How can I connect with others authentically? And how can I make a positive impact on the world around me?
While every post may not be Scripture-filled, I intend for everything I do online and offline to be Spirit-filled.
Whether I share a joyous family vacation, a thought-provoking essay, or a humorous anecdote, I aim to infuse my content with intention and compassion. I want to use this platform to bridge gaps, foster understanding, and inspire others to live their lives with purpose and meaning. It's not about seeking validation from strangers but maybe just connecting with, inspiring, and sharpening one another.
So, here's to embracing the digital age with wisdom and wonder. Praying that whatever I post, may it all be done in the name of the Lord.
First blog post! 🔥I am reminded of Corinthians 10:31.
